meet dr. grace
Dr. Grace has been practicing functional medicine in Colorado since 2008.
Her journey to functional medicine began as a search for answers to her own health challenges. After years of dealing with chronic stomach pain, chronic back pain, fatigue, and neurological symptoms that traditional medicine couldn’t fully address, she discovered the transformative potential of functional medicine, which ignited her commitment to return to graduate school to pursue a deeper understanding of functional medicine for herself, her family, and her future clients.
As a patient of several functional medicine chiropractors Dr. Grace decided to also utilize the route of a Chiropractic Doctorate degree in order to practice functional medicine. Chiropractic school has stringent entry requirements including organic chemistry, upper level anatomy and physiology with dissection lab, and many other biology and chemistry “pre-med” requirements.
The chiropractic curriculum is similar to a traditional medicine program except that there is more time spent on physiology, radiology (X-Ray & interpretation), and most importantly nutrition and biochemistry. In addition to her chiropractic degree from New York Chiropractic College (now Northeastern College of Health Sciences), Dr. Grace attained a Certificate in Contemporary Medical Acupuncture from McMaster University in Toronto, Canada, and also holds two undergraduate BAs from the University of California, San Diego in Economics and Psychology.
Dr. Grace not just a highly trained healthcare provider but also a passionate advocate for holistic healing.
Even after 16+ years of experience in various healthcare settings, Dr. Grace is even more committed to helping clients with their health concerns and challenges who may have felt unheard and frustrated with previous care. Through functional medicine and foundational principles, Dr. Grace truly listens and addresses the underlying causes of health issues, by working to uncover and identify the root causes of health concerns, leading to a profound sense of clarity, relief and sense of empowerment to take control of their well-being.
The word Doctor comes from the Latin word “docere” - which means “to teach”, and Dr. Grace loves sharing information, simplifying complex ideas & helping people learn to take care of themselves and their families.
Dr. Slavin is trained and certified through many organizations.
